Being trained on specific products for particular applications opened my eyes to the importance of product knowledge. I realised that during my time in wholesale, when a customer asked for a product, I would often just sell what was easiest, not necessarily what was best for their needs.
This experience taught me a valuable lesson: Taking the time to understand the products you sell—their features, applications, and benefits—gives you the tools to sell with confidence, not just on price. In an increasingly competitive market, true success comes from providing the right solution, not the cheapest one.
